An up-date on Lady Jan's Garden

I took this picture a while ago, and it shows that my drip admitters on in my squash plants.
And you should see them now! The leaves are the size of dinner plates and they have their first squash blooms.
My strawberries are not only planted, but I have their drip admitters in as well.
You can also see that I planted them in a circle.
This is a photo of a Multiple planting; of two bell peppers(in front), and two Japanese egg plants(in back). And neither of these plants get very big, so I thought they would be good planted together.
I do have one plant that is a little wilted in the back, but don't worry it has perked up since this picture was taken.
And now at long last we have gotten to my garden gate, with it's Mom's garden sign clearly seen. And all the weeds and Bermuda grass firmly up rooted, and ground cover laid down.

Posted by Picasa But unfortunately this isn't even the half way point in my garden.

But you sure got a lot done.

Hi Ann,

Thanks, but the rest of it is worse than the first part.

Wish us luck finishing it all.

Hi Janice ~~ Your garden is looking good. You get a sense of achievement
when things look good and start to grow.
You will get the rest done gradually. Chicken Kiev is a chicken breast with a garlic sauce inside it and is delicious.
Thanks for your visit and comment.
Take care, Merle.

Will your strawberries still be able to spread their runners and propogate under the mulch?

Hi Merle,

Thank you! But the whole garden is going in very very slowly. The good news is that here in sunny California, we have a very long growing season.

Hi Madcap,

The strawberries will be able to spread but propogate--no. I'll have to snip the runners off.

But think about it this way if my strawberries spend all their energy making runners, they wont have the energy to make strawberries.

Hi Sarah,

People with a black thumb for potted plants can actually do well in a garden! All you need is a spot of cleared earth--out in the sun, and then remember to water your plantings.

Your Lady Jan~
