Thursday's Thirteen: October's to do list

Since its October first or nearly at this posting, here are thirteen things for October in no particular order.

I would have posted some photos but my internet service is acting funny.

1. Setting out the autumn decorations.

2. Getting out and decorating for Halloween. It’s not the same decorations as the autumn ones.

3. Raking fall leaves. I really hate this chore. We have sycamore trees, they have big leaves. Lots and lots of them.

4. Dusting the house and getting it ready, so I can shut all the windows for the cold season.

5. Picking out a pumpkin. I don’t do this quite so much now that my daughter is older.

6. Pulling out the spent spring flowers and planting fall bulbs or more mums.

7. Cleaning out my planters and planting some fall flowers.

8. Putting away all the shorts and summer clothes. Then digging out of the back of my closet for my long sleeve blouses and long pants. Cool weather clothes, oh how I miss thee.

9. Costume making time. My daughter has taken over this chore. She’s too old for trick-or-treating, but there’s an Ani-jam on Halloween that’s she’ll be attending. She won third place in the last one for her costume she had made.

10. Buying Halloween candy. We don’t get trick-or-treaters, we live too far out of town but I buy them for my small family. We like candy. :)

11. This year it’s on us for my daughter’s senior year school picture. It all has to be done by October 15th.

12. Get sign up for the Nanowritmo (National Novel Writer’s Month). It’s always a crazy month for me, but for the last three years I have finished in time with a 50,000 word novel.

13. Celebrate my hubby’s Birthday. His B-day is on the 29th.

Waaaah! I miss celebrating Autumn, and I miss Halloween! I want Halloween candy! Waahaahaaa!

I'm okay, now. Thanks for the walk down memory lane, though. :)

Ciao!
Happy TT!

I love Halloween. Today we start putting up the decorations and getting ready to scare the neighborhood kiddies.

Great T13!

Fall is my favorite season of all. Wow, I can't believe NaNoWriMo is so close. This is my 4th year, and I too have crossed the finish line for the past three. Great list. Happy T13!

We don't get any trick-or-treaters here either and we live on a busy street. People just don't trick-or-treat like they used to when I was a kid. :( It's sad. Happy Thursday!

Dusting? What's that?
:)

I'll be participating in nanowrimo as well. Can't wait!

Usually the kids are all over me this time of year to get the decorations out. This year neither said a thing.

Haven't had any leaves to rake yet but I have been enjoying the color change of the season.

Did bring the plants in though cause we got our first frost last night.

Yikes! This reminds me of all the stuff I need to do this month, too. We're heading to Vegas during Halloween for a wedding so sadly we won't be giving candy out this year (I can scratch that off my list). But I have 3 family bdays and my wedding anniversary this month. And you just reminded me that I have to sign up for NaNa too -- first time!

Hi Ms. Menozzi,

Sorry, maybe next autumn you can come to states for a visit. At least you have a lovely Christmas in Itally.

Hi C.M. Torrens,

Scarying the kiddies is always fun, too bad they don't come all the way out here to my house.

Hi Adelle,

Yup, its real soon now. We should be buddies for the nano, my handle is Lady Jan.

Hi Stephanie,

In town we still get tons of kids, maybe its the busy road that scares the parents from you area?

Hi Ella,

Well you see you get this rag and run it over your dusty furnature.

Nano is always a hoot, and then I'm real tired at the end of it, lol.

Hi Paige,

Me too.

Hi Alice,

Oh dear that's a sure sign that they are getting older.

Hi Angeleque,

We had the fall leaves while it was still hot, and we won't have frost until just before Thanksgiving. I never have any of my homegrown tomatoes for Thanksgiving.

Hi Cambria,

Oh well your going to be very busy anyway.

Nano is a blast, your gonna love it.

Happy TT everybody.
