Spring forward time again!

It was time to spring forward here again, and we are still running around and finding clocks with the wrong time still, and having to change them.

How did you do?

If you don't do this in your country you might not understand
daylight saving time and why we do it?

Heck, I'm from here and I barely understand it myself!

I was trying to explain it to my daughter's foreign exchange student friend Arma, who is from Indonesia, and I have to say it sounded insane to me as it came out of my mouth.

And we Americans can blame o'l
Ben Franklin for coming up with the idea, back then it was to save candles.

But even though it wasn't put into to use until March 19, 1918, sometimes called the Standard Time Act. Daylight saving time was repealed in 1919. Daylight time became a local matter. It was re-established nationally early in World War II, and was continuously observed from 9 February 1942 to 20 September 1945. After the war its use varied among states and localities.

The Uniform Time Act of 1966 provided standardization in the dates of beginning and end of daylight time in the U.S. but allowed for local exemptions from its observance. The act provided that daylight time begin on the last Sunday in April and end on the last Sunday in October, with the changeover to occur at 2 a.m. local time.

But to tell you the truth I rather not have to do it at all!

I like Daylight Saving even though the change is a nuisance.

Don't have to drive into the blinding sun to take the girls to the busstop each morning and have a little more daylight in the afternoon.

After I started blogging, I discovered Australia has Daylight Saving but their clocks change in September at the beginning of their spring.

I hate daylight saving and am glad we don't have it here in Queensland. They tried it once a few years ago but after a "No" referendum result it has been squashed ever since. All other states on Australia do it but not us here in Queensland. I hope the status quo remains.

Hi Janice
We have daylight savings here and I always look forward to the longer summer days we turn our clocks back on the Sunday the 25th march so our days will get shorter..

Hi Ann,

It is a nusance, and no matter how careful we are there is always a couple of clocks that get over looked.

Hi Lee,

Good for you there in Queensland. I wish I didn't have to mess with it either.

Hey, you got room for one more family over there?

Hi Jeanette,
