Fresno California is Considering a Nuclear Powerplant!

According to this article they are thinking of building a nuclear power plant in Fresno!

Fresno?

Fresno is almost thirty miles from my home here in Madera CA.

Yikes! Talk about too close for comfort!

Who want to see Lady Jan glow in the dark?

And thirty years ago certain individuals thought Madera Stupid enough to be attractive to this idea, but Madera is primarily a farming community and we know that a power plant would take lots and lots of water. And the powers that be in Madera work real hard to protect what little water flows down the hill form the various dams and canals, and we aren't going to waste any of it!

We are enough of a desert as it is! And we don't need any help from some dang big nuclear power plant sucking up all the water!

But Fresno is a big city! Fresno is the sixth-largest city in California and the county seat of Fresno County. With an estimated population of 471,479, and they are still growing and the need for cheep fuel is a big concern.

That too many people!

But according to this article a nuclear power plant will cost more in the long run in Dealing With Nuclear Technology's Expense, Waste and Danger That Goes On Forever!

And ever and ever and ever!

If you ask me anything is dangerous if it kills people and endangers countless thousands in area that are hundreds or thousands of miles away, and make the land unusable for use from 30 years to what hundreds of years?

That's too dang long to glow in the dark!

We need to invest in safer sources of energy that why I advocate solar power and wind power.

For one thing who ever heard of nuclear fall out from Solar or winds power?

Hi Janice ~~ That must be a worry for you -- too close for comfort. Maybe there will be protests against it, and it may not happen. I would think a city would be the wrong place to put one anyway.
Thank you so much for your good wishes for my surgery. I am glad o be home and am OK, just tired.
Take care, Janice, Love, Merle.

I can understand your concern, Janice and empathize with you. There is discussions going on here in Aus at the moment about nuclear power plants...a fair way off yet...but.....

HI Merle,

It is too close for comfort, but it wont exactly be in the city just a couple of miles out next to a sewage treatment plant--so one mistake and you know what will hit the fan!

Hi Lee,

God, I hope not! It's just too dangerous. Your country like California has plenty of sun shine most of the year, and solar power is the way to go.
