Circle in the Sand ~ the only song by Belinda Carlisle I actually like

You have that song Itsy Bitsy Teeny Weeny Yellow Polka Dot Bikini in America? Poor you! I assumed that song was British... one difference I noticed when I was growing up between the British and American pop charts ~ America seems almost immune to novelty records whereas here a "good" one will go straigt to number one (well it did when I was little)... Bart Simpson's Do The Bartman being a prime example. O and Star Trekking Across the Universe by... who cares?

Hi Gled,

That is a nice song too. Yup, Teeny weeny polka dot bikini we had it too, and also there was a one horn, one eye, purple people eater. Actually we have an awful lot of ridiculous songs we play so often on the radio we get sick of hearing them, lol.

That's the thing about America anyone can make it big, if you make a big enough fool of yourself.

Hi Paige,

I'm glad you liked it.

Happy TT.

You've given me a great idea for a new Thursday Thirteen - but I won't mention it here. Heh.

I have to confess, I don't have a lot of love for the "Summer Songs" since it's my least favorite season - but "Wipe Out" is still an awesome track. LOL! Great guitar work!

Happy (belated) TT! :)

Hi Kimberly,

I prefer spring and fall myself. I like cool, but not cold or too hot myself.

I look forward to seeing your next TT, you always post very interesting ones. :)

Hi Catherine,

Yeah, mood is important.

But also while waiting to hear from the editor if she would accept my story, the radio station that I listen to in the morning was playing beach songs. I took it as a good sign.

Hi Bethanne,

Thanks, and feel free to use them if you want.

Have a great weekend.
