Lady Jan says it's c-c-cold!

We had our first heavy frost this morning--burr!
It was 31 F. this morning, h-mm it might be for my Aussie friends 0 C. you'll have to correct me if I'm wrong.
Even this piece of wood got it too.
My husband picked the last of my tomatoes off the vines for me.
Because, yes I still have my nasty cold.
Sniff, sniff!

Lady Jan's Novel experience
I started this almost a month ago and the contest is nearly over.
The darn thing has taken over my life, that's why I haven't been post so much.

The title is: Twin hearts, and I registered un the name Lady Jan. Who else?
It's either a chick lit, or romance, or kinda science fiction. But I registered it as chick lit. I've never written one of those before, oh well first time for every thing I guess.

Lady Jan's Thanksgiving day!

The bird was me!
Here's my husband indicating the year with his finger, '06,
just before he was to cut up the turkey.
The table was seat and we were ready to eat,
let's feast!
I would like to say a good time was had by all!
but who am I kidding?
I was sick with a cold,
the turkey leg I was coveting tasted weird to my cold laden taste buds.
And my extended family didn't show up for fear contamination.
My husband said he loved it just being the three of us,
he didn't have to share,
that means
more left overs!
That man
especially it
it's cooked
Lady Jan~

Lady Jan says, "November another Turkey get's cooked!"

This little turkey went to the winery where it got all eat up!
(Lady Jan's cooking tip;
I always cook my turkey in a baking bag--with a little water inside of the bird, a salt and olive oil rub down. Follow the direction of pounds per hour and it so tender it falls apart)
The bad thing about cooking for the gang where my husband works is--all I get out of it is the smell! And nary a piece of a succlent bird to be had for me!
Eh, I shall need a slice of cheese with my wine!
But two day from now on 11-23-06
That's Thanksgiving here in the states!
I shall be eating a turkey leg!
By Golly!

There be Knights at the Fair!

The white knight the local hero!
The black knight the challenger!
Lady Kimberly representing for the ladies.
I think I forgot to mention this one is something of a ham? Posted by Picasa

The joust was exciting, the two knights fought furiously breaking lances after lance against one and other's shield, until a pile of broken lances where piled on either side.

It was the black knight won the joust match, and the white knight threw down his gauntlet challenged the other to a dual. Then the black knight also threw in his gauntlet accepting the challenge.

They fought with sword until the sparks flew and the swords sang, really they sang like in that movie the singing sword--you didn't see it? Boy did you miss out.

Then the black knight drew a line in the dirt and spat across it daring the other to cross it, then the white knight drew his own line. Then they played tic tac toe. I am not making this up they did.

Then two cousins (as it happens they are related), then finished the battle with a heated game of rock paper scissors, then hugged and made-up.

Lady Jan Goeth to an Renaissance Festival

My daughter Sarah is on the far left, YGF with BF is in the middle, and of course the red head in the green is me. We all posed for picture before piling in the car to go to the renaissance festival at Kerny park Fresno 11-11-06 through 11-12-06.
My husband join in the picture taking too, after all we couldn't leave him out he was our driver, he on the right taking my prior spot.
We saw frolicking fairies.
And stuff being flung, mostly pumkins, the counter weight is a human in the wooden basket at bottom.
Weee! What a ride! Posted by Picasa

Lady Jan's Pajamas

Does anyone think pajamas are sexy?

I don't either!

And the model on the left is thin, and she is a whole lot thinner than I am and she isn't sexy in pajamas. Point of fact she looks boxy in them.

I bought myself a few pairs of pajama bottoms, because I prefer to sleep in t-shirt or something stretchy for a sleepy top but my legs get cold.

And I got flannel because it's warmer and we are fully in fall now and the evening are a lot cooler. And some of you have already noticed that I blog at night, and I want to be warm while I do that. So I decided why not pajamas? I'll be warm and cozy and comfy while I write late into the night.
(Okay maybe I'm not writing as late of an evening now. My husband is finally home at night, the crush season has ended and my husband is on day shift so I'm glad to announce that I finally have him back to snoring in my ear at night and spooning me. Finally I can sleep at night again.)
But back to the pajamas: while my husband was still on nights shift I had put my new comfy pair of pajama bottoms on with a sweat shirt, and my husband had just gotten up and was preparing for work:
My husband:"What have you got on there?" he said as he put on his work shoes.
Me: "Pajamas."
My husband: "You look cute."
Me: "There Pajamas."
My husband: "Ooh, soft" as he gets up and runs a hand over my leg.
Me: "Yeah, there flannel--pajamas."
My husband: "I like them."
Me: But I'm wearing pajamas?"
My husband: "Nice soft pajamas, and h-mm, I really like them on you too." he said as she kisses me.
Me: mouth hanging in disbelief, "But there pajamas?"
My husband: "I like you in pajamas! Buy some more for yourself okay?"
(the rest of the conversation has been edited for content and acute embarrassment.)
Boy, have I been wasting my money, when all I needed to do was buy pajamas?
So you guessed it!
I bought some more pajamas!

Happy Guy Fawkes Day

Guy Fawkes Day or Bond Fire Night
An English celebration (not a national Holiday)

Remember, remember, the 5th of November
The Gunpowder Treason and plot ;
I know of no reason why Gunpowder Treason
Should ever be forgot.
Guy Fawkes, Guy Fawkes,
'Twas his intent.
To blow up the King and the Parliament.
Three score barrels of powder below.
Poor old England to overthrow.
By God's providence he was catch'd,
With a dark lantern and burning match

Holloa boys, Holloa boys, let the bells ring
Holloa boys, Holloa boys, God save the King!

Hip hip Hoorah !
Hip hip Hoorah !

A penny loaf to feed ol'Pope,
A farthing cheese to choke him.
A pint of beer to rinse it down,
A faggot of sticks to burn him.
Burn him in a tub of tar,'
Burn him like a blazing star.
Burn his body from his head,
Then we'll say: ol'Pope is dead.
I got the idea to post about Guy Fawkes from Ann who did a her post on him already.
There is a quote of this poem in V the movie.

Lady Jan's daughter's Costume

My daughter as the cat faced Egyptian goddess Isis.
My daughter--walking like an Egyptian.

I wish I could tell you that she had a great time, but I can't.
My daughter's friend who was gonna come and take her out trick or treating with her younger brother and sister didn't show, and didn't call because we have a problem; we have a hacker on out lines and can't receive calls of an evening.

The next day my daugher found out that her friend's parents took them to the lolly pop factory instead of trick or treating anyway.

I didn't even know we had a lolly pop factory?

And I took my daughter trick or treating, and it will be the last time because she is already fifteen, and sadly she is really too old for it now.
