Thursday's Thirteen: The Nanowrimo self-sabotages

I'm doing the Nanowrimo and these are thirteen things that things that are sabotages my writing.
  1. I'm hungry, I think that candy in the candy bowl is calling my name.
  2.  I'm thirsty, I think I have one soda left way in the back of the fridge.
  3.  I need to use the bathroom, even though it's the tenth time in the last hour.
  4.  I want to pet the cat she seem lonely; "Here kitty-kitty. Ow, don't bite me."
  5.  My daughter friend came over, I get to have girl talk which will waste another hour or two.
  6.  Is it lunch or dinner time yet? Did some one email me?
  7. It has been two hours since the last time I checked.
  8.  Is that show I want to watch on? I better check.
  9.  I'm cold I better get a sweater on. Ooh, better yet I'll change into pajamas, even though its only seven o'clock in the afternoon.
  10.  Did I hear the UPS truck outside? I think my package I ordered from cafepress is due.
  11.  Time to update my word count for the third time in the last hour.
  12.  I better check what's going on in the nano forums.
  13.  Hey, I better do my Thursday's thirteen!
Are you doing the Nanowrimo? If you are how are you doing?

I admire anyone who's doing NaNo. I don't believe I'd have the patience or willpower. LOL Happy writing, Jan!

I'm not doing NaNo, but I find myself suddenly thinking "Hmmm, I'd better get the living room vacuumed. We might have company one of these years..."

LOL!

Happy TT!

I'm totally with you on the word count, I update that way to much. If the words are flowing I'll update it whenever I pause, every few hundred words, but when its not. I'll update it every sentence. Just to procrastinate a little bit.

My other procrastination technique is, I have time, so I can relax a little. Until all there is no more time. Or I have to think through this paragraph (and end up taking a nap).

Those would be distracting!

I was going to do NaNoWriMo, but just can't get into it. Too sick, too tired to really concentrate on it. Oh well, maybe next year.

This post makes me wish I was participating in NaNo this year just so I could commiserate. Good luck, Janice and everyone else.

Hi Stephanie,

Hi Adelle,

Hi Kimberly,

Yup and you don't want to be caught with a dirty carpet.

Hi Willa,

I'm not doing Nano, but these seem pretty common for me with just my usual writing. Sometimes I'm just not in the moment, ya know?

Hi Maddy,

Oh yeah, I know--big time.

These seem like perfectly good procrastinations to me. :)

I'm unofficially doing NaNo this year. I happen to have an overlapping deadline of Dec. 1st. So my big procras is editing as I go, since I have to turn sub this to my editor when I'm done.

Happy T13,
