Learning something new--Grammar

I know, your rolling your eyes. "How can grammar be new?"


Being a writer I need to keep perfecting my grammar, so I'm always glad to learn something new. But having said that I will always need an editor, because writer's are blind to their own mistakes, unfortunately. 


However, I can still improve thus making my editor's job a little easier. *wink*


Someone asked me a question, which I was not entirely sure of. Is "then" a conjunction?


I thought it was, hmm?


So I decided to look it up, just to be sure.

Yes, "then" is a conjunction. To be more precise its a conjunction adverb. 

A conjunctive adverb is an adverb that connects two clauses. Conjunctive adverbs show cause and effect, sequence, contrast, comparison, or other relationships.

James walked across the room then sat in a chair. (That walk must have tired poor ol' James out.)
