Day Trip'n with Lady Jan #4

I bought this from the Mariposa Museum.

There was two house in the back one was the Mariposa news paper and the other was this counter house with the pretty arch. My daughter and my husband are cutting up.

My daughter Sarah, and her friend Arma under the arch.

Granite cart for the stamping machine.

I found Gold! exclaimed my husband.

The Gold up close and personal, it turns out it's nothing more than a little gold paint.

The morn before we got to the museum there was a dedication ceremony for this new sign or plaque.Posted by Picasa

i love museums. i once held the title of 'creative carpenter' at the museum in Dawson City, Yukon. i designed and built dioramas for them. huge fun, and i got to poke through the boxes of fascinating old stuff in the attic. i worked in the gold room for the Bank of Commerce there too, one summer, as a tour guide. we had a prune painted with gold spray paint, to show what a nugget looked like. it had to be replaced several times through the summer, as it tended to have mysterious disappearances.

California has to be one of the best places in the world for photo opportunities.

Hi Janice ~~ Yo ave een showing us some interesting things, like the cemetery and the museum. Pity about
the "gold."
Thanks for your comments, I laughed at the "remote" going to K Mart.
Take care, Love, Merle.

Hi G.F.,

And I bet the "theives" were mighty disapointed to find out there gold nugget was a prune.

Hi Willow Tree,

I think your right, we do have everything here from the coast to red wood forest, and deserts too.

Hi Merle,

That remote has seen more places than a remote ought to.

Hi Lee,

Yes it was a good day, and a good time was had by all.

Your Lady Jan
