We finally made it to;
Mariposa, and we went to the Mariposa museum but I couldn't take pictures inside.
But I could outside the museum.

This is a pioneer device for turning a mountain into a hole, just to find a small bag full of gold.

Used to crush rocks into gravel so that gold can be collected through use of mercury, and incidental adding mercury poisoning to the environment.
Phew after all that I'm tired and hungry, so we went and got something to eat.

That might be a plan for the girls during the summer. It's only a few miles down the road and they have a good Chinese restaurant.

I really like the town of Mariposa, and they do indeed have a Chinese restaurant, but I can't reconment it simply because I have never eaten there.
They use to have a restaurant that served ostrich burgers, but we didn't go there this trip.
